129

129, installation, reclaimed steel, reclaimed wood, 2021

Titled for a workman's mark on the back of the standing steel sheet, this was my last installation exploring steel and its relationships with struggle, decay, and labor. On the right is a bundle of steel plates scarred from use as a plasma cutter table, and retrieved from a dumpster. The center is a sheet of steel as found in a junkyard. On the right is an arrangement of found planks, hard-used as stair steps or a platform of some kind. They are arranged here with aligned scars and wear as homage to their history.
