True Allegory of My Life as an Artist

Performance

For this performance I hung my very messy studio with long swathes of canvas and sat among them barely visible during a public reception. The canvas was wound around cables strung across the open top of my studio. In the mess was a massive factory cart piled with steel scrap, all together weighing many hundreds of pounds. At a certain point, I rose and pushed the cart out of the studio, which snapped the cables and pulled things crashing to the floor. I continued, dragging long strips of canvas behind me through the reception and exiting through a large roll-up door, which rolled back down and shut behind me.
